REVIEW NEW EP
Remember the generation of virtuosic guitarists launched by Shrapnel Records? Now imagine an album released in 2019 that takes you back to the era that introduced the world to names like Paul Gilbert, Vinnie Moore, Tony MacAlpine, Joey Tafolla, Richie Kotzen, Marty Friedman, Jason Becker, and many others. Well, you don’t have to imagine—just listen to Scream of Insanity, the debut solo work by Edu Megale from Minas Gerais, Brazil. The album revives that era with "a sound that recalls the ‘80s shredders, full of fast and consistent melodies, starting right from the explosive and energetic first track, Choices, which features heavy use of slides, lots of alternate picking, and classic progressions,” highlights the 29-year-old guitarist."
